Who We Are
French Creek Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, non-profit corporation dedicated to the development and revitalization of Avon's French Creek District through improvement projects and beautification of public areas.
About Us
French Creek Foundation (FCF), formerly known as the French Creek Development Association (FCDA), was formed in 1993 by a group of individuals who had a common vision to develop and revitalize Avon's French Creek District.  It is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation.
FCF strives towards two specific goals:
First, the assurance that Avon's heritage be maintained in an attempt to establish ties between past, current and future generations of residents; and

Second, that aesthetics and heritage play a vital role in the future development of the French Creek District.
To that end, FCF is dedicated to the beautification of Avon through carefully designed and planned projects.  The intent of such projects is to raise community awareness of Avon's past while fostering a sense of responsibility for Avon's future.

Through these efforts and those of its members, FCF is and will remain a cornerstone of Avon's future and a guardian of its past.
Over the last two decades FCF has continued its mission through improvement and beautification projects.  In 1999, FCF partnered with the City of Avon and local businesses to create the park and build the gazebo at Heritage Square, located at the southwest corner of Detroit and Stoney Ridge Roads.  More recently, in 2014, in celebration of Avon's bicentennial, FCF installed 15 cement planters filled with flowers along the south side of Detroit Road between State Route 611 and State Route 83.
Other activities of FCF include:
  • organizing annual events;
  • coordinating the Downtown Ohio / Main Street effort; and
  • participating in Avon's city-wide Aunt Teak and Uncle Junque Yard Sale.
FCF's projects are paid for through the generosity of FCF's members, event sponsors, fundraising efforts and donations.  Our main events each year include the Pancake Breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt at Avon Isle, Fall Into Avon (partnered with the French Creek Merchants' Association) in the French Creek District, and Annual Santa Stroll at Olde Avon Village, Christmas Tree Lighting Festival at Heritage Square Gazebo, followed by a visit with Santa at Avon Isle.
The members of FCF meet the first Tuesday of each month at 9:30 AM at St. Mary of the Woods , 35755 Detroit Road, Avon.
